Drug therapy is based on the accurate drug administration. Patients must be compliant to get desirable therapeutic effect. The purpose of our survey on the medication noncompliance is to get the reference materials needed for prescribing, medication counseling and ward cowork system of health team, and finally to accomplish the best drug therapy. For 12 days from May the 30th, 1988 to June the 10th, 1988, 200 patients in Chonnam National University Hospital were randomly sampled in proportion to the department bed numbers and surveyed by man to man discussion with the question paper. The noncomplianed ratio in this survey was about 20％ and the major factors influencing noncompliance were distrust on drug therapy, the complex therapeutic regimen, difficulty of drug administration and production of side effect. In order to increase compliance it may be necessary to use sustained of controlled preparations, to do medication counseling and to survey noncompliance regularly.
